Our Gretel dining chair in rattan updates the ornamental Victorian wicker peacock style for the here and now. An elaborately hand-woven fanback culminates in a dramatic back that hints at a flower in bloom, with a repeating half-circle pattern that wraps around both sides. The removable cushion can even be upholstered with one of our luxury upholstery fabrics or COM for an extra layer of personality.
What To Expect
Rattan is typically harvested from rattan palms, which grow in tropical regions, and the appearance and texture can vary depending on the environment. For example, whether the season was more dry or wet than usual can impact its natural color, and the time of year it’s harvested can affect how it absorbs color. Some might even include small marks of darker shades, leaving each piece with a subtle sense of individuality.
