Curving and impeccably crafted, Beaumont is a beacon of light anywhere it goes. For the bedroom, the Beaumont dresser features a spectacularly burledtop and three blonde raffia-covered drawers. Either side reveals a triptych of raffia-covered panels - accented with golden edges and textured golden knobs.
What To Expect
Mappa burl is known for its naturally occurring irregular grain patterns, adding a touch of character to each item made with this material. You might also see slight variation in color from piece to piece.
Raffia, made from raffia palm trees native to Madagascar and other tropical regions, is harvested by cutting the leaves from the raffia palm trees and then drying them in the sun. Once dry, the leaves are split and the fibers are stripped and sorted based on color, texture, and length. Raffia can vary depending on the amount of sun, humidity, rain, etc. in a season, so some slight differences in color and texture are expected from piece to piece. It can also yellow over time when exposed to excessive moisture, a delicate nod to the beauty of raffia’s evolution as it ages. Ultimately, these characteristics inspire us to design pieces that honor raffia’s natural origin and highlight these notes of individuality.
