Finishing a vellum leather piece involves a totally blind process where the true color or hue is not revealed until the piece is fully finished. Given this, variation in shade is always expected from item to item and is, in part, what makes this material so special. In terms of pattern and texture, you might see bubbles under the surface created during the lacquer application and minor scratches from the polishing process.
