Bone inlay is a time-honored technique that requires a highly-skilled artisan to produce. Each piece of bone is meticulously carved by hand and then placed in a specific pattern. Resin is then carefully hand-mixed and poured to fill the spaces between the inlay, which can lead to some variation in color and pattern. Polishing with water also adds to the individual appearance of each item. Keep in mind that you might see some chipping on the bone, and cracks and a yellow tint are expected to appear over time, a nod to its natural beauty as it ages.
